Izumi no Sato in Kawashima Town is a restaurant known for serving authentic suttate. In the summer, there were usually long lines, but on this day, we were able to get in immediately.

Since they don’t serve suttate this season, I thought about having gojiru… but I chose the stylish Hon-kamo Jiru Seiro (1650 yen), and you can choose between udon and soba.

The dish was served in about 20 minutes. It comes with three pieces of high-quality duck in a very rich soy-based dipping sauce, along with a boiled egg.

The flavor can be said to be quite strong, but it’s delicious. The seasoned egg and mushrooms are also well-flavored. Finishing it by diluting with soba broth is a nice way to take your time and enjoy it.
