I stopped for lunch at Curry The Hardcore on the way to Ikebukuro Station hike. The aroma was wafting through while I was walking, and I couldn’t help but line up.

I asked the older woman standing in line outside to explain the recommended menu, and after waiting for five minutes, we got in. I ordered the original hamburger curry (1,100 yen).

You can really taste the spices, but it’s not too spicy, making it easy to eat and delicious. There are three small hamburgers as toppings, and the chicken is tender and falls apart nicely. The most distinctive feature is the schmaltz, a type of back fat, that is added on top. Mixing it in before eating is irresistible! It enhances the richness and flavor, and it’s kind of addictive.
