I participated in the ‘Ekihai’ walk for two weeks in a row. This time, it was a course around the old downtown starting from Tabata Station. I received the map at 10:30, and off we went.

We arrived at Komagome Tenso Shrine at 10:45. It stands quietly next to Komagome Hospital.

After walking for a while, I arrived at Nezu Shrine at 11:15. I’ve been here a few times during the azalea season. It’s a bit lonely when the azaleas aren’t in bloom, after all.

But since it was not crowded that day, I was able to pass through the thousand torii gates of the Otome Inari Shrine on the temple grounds for the first time!

Then I walked further and arrived at Shinobazu Pond at 11:40. I had a good view of the Skytree.

We climbed the stairs and arrived at the familiar Yushima Tenjin at 11:54. As expected, there were huge crowds this season praying for exam success! We had no choice but to skip the visit. Some plum blossoms have also started to bloom.

I’m getting tired, but it’s all downhill to Kanda Myojin. At 12:10, I passed through the grand tower gate, but there were quite a few people here too, so I skipped the visit. The goshuin was a standard pre-written design (500 yen).

Arrived at Yushima Seido nearby at 12:20. It was my first time here, and somehow the architecture feels Chinese-style.

We arrived at the final point, Ochanomizu Station, at 12:25, after about a two-hour walk. The top of Hijiri Bridge was packed with ordinary people aiming to capture shots of the Chuo Line, Sobu Line, and Marunouchi Line all at the same time!
